Mamma’s Love

When I was a day old, Mamma said, “I love you.”

When I was three, I fell down the stairs. Mamma said, “I love you.”

When I was six, I scrapped my knee. Mamma kissed it better and said, “I love you.”

When I was eight, I was baptized. Mamma cried and said, “I love you.”

When I was eleven, I finished reading the fourth Harry Potter. Mamma called me a nerd and said, “I love you.”

When I was thirteen, I started junior high. Mamma said, ” I love you.”

When I was fifteen, I started high school. Mamma showed her yearbooks to me and said, “I love you.”

When I was sixteen, I went on my first date. Mamma stayed up till I got home and said, “I love you.”

When I was seventeen, I had a broken-heart. Mamma told me things would get better and said, “I love you.”

When I was eighteen and at college I would miss  Mamma. But she’d call me and remind me of one thing:  “I love you, Samantha.”

When I was nineteen and lost my way, Mamma would say, “I love you no matter what, Samantha.”

When I was twenty and received my mission call, Mamma said, “I love you and I’m really gonna miss you.”

Now I am twenty-one and have so many doors to open. Mamma says to me, “I love you and will always support you chasing your dreams.”
