Today’s workout was pretty intense. I usually just do the elliptical because I hate running (last famous words, right?) but today I though that I’d switch it up a little bit. I did an hour on the elliptical today on the “Random” setting (which nearly killed me by the way. I seriously thought that my legs were going to burn off) and I burned 602 calories in just that hour (I track my workout calories on the Polar FT 4). Then I decided to try this weird-looking machine that I’ve seen several people do. This is what it looks like:
I had to Google it when I got home and found out that it’s called the rowing machine. It can be a killer workout if you do it properly. Here’s a video on how to do it properly. I wish that I would’ve seen this video before I did it because I left the gym a little sore. But next time, I hopefully won’t be as sore. In the twenty minutes that I was on this thing, I burned 135 calories. It was intense but a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it.
I really recommend doing this if you ever want to switch it up at the gym. It can be counted as cardio if you do it right (like the video said). Now, do tell me, have you ever rowed at the gym? If not, what do your usual workouts consist of?
